Day 1: Marrakech - Tizi n'Tichka Pass - Ait Benhaddou - Ouarzazate - Skoura - Kelaat M'gouna - Dades Gorge
In the morning and at the agreed time, we will pick you up in your Riad/Hotel to start our route of three days, we will cross the mountains of the HIGH ATLAS passing through the mountain pass Tizi n'Tichka at 2260m of altitude and that is the highest main pass in the mountains of North Africa, where by the way, we make a few stops where you will have the opportunity to take photos and enjoy the mountains and the spectacular Berber villages that we will find along the route. Our next stop will be Ait Benhaddou (UNESCO world heritage site) and well known for the filming of many famous movies such as Gladiator, Obelix, Prince of Persia and the Mummy etc… We will stop to eat and visit this famous Kasbah after which we will continue on the road to Ouarzazate where we stop to see the Kasbah of Taourirt which was built for the Glaoui dynasty.
Our route will continue to the extensive palm grove of Skoura (with more than 700,000 palm trees), a deserved place to make a stop and enjoy the special beauty and tranquillity that the Palm Grove offers us. Our continuous path full of emotions continues toward Boumalne Dades where for the majority of tourists is a center for visiting as it is located in the fertile valley and with a great panorama down the valley and to the mountains beyond. After making a stop at Dades, we continue through Kelaat M'gouna (Valley of Roses), a surprising contrast of colours and landscapes, on occasions the arid reddish colour of the mountains is interrupted with the intense green of the vegetation, and as the name indicates, very well-known by the massive cultivation of roses for various uses. Our journey continues in the direction of the Dades Valley, also known as the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, and although the figure may seem exaggerated, what is certain is that they are very numerous. Dinner and overnight at Dades Gorge.
Day 2: Boumalne Dades - Tinghir - Todra Gorge - Tinejdad - Erfoud - Merzouga
After a good Moroccan breakfast we leave towards Tineghir; a city located at the foot of the Atlas Mountains and surrounded entirely by mountains. We will continue our path to the Gorges of the river Todra, where we will have the opportunity to make a stop and admire its walls of over 100 meters of height and stroll through this wonderful place to discover the daily life of the people. After lunch we will continue our route toward Merzouga passing through Tinejdad and Erfoud, arriving at Erfoud we will possibly make a stop to visit one of the most important marble fossil carriers. This city is characterized by its traditional and typical house of the area where it is inhabited by the Berber people, also by their short narrow alleys. Certain parts of the landscape were used in some of the movies where the desert appeared, for example; the Mummy, some corners of the villages appeared in this film.
Finally today we go to hotel in Erg Chebbi, located at the foot of the dunes with its orange colours, there the camels will be waiting for us to go to spend an unforgettable night in the middle of the desert between dunes, with millions of stars and endless tranquility as we enjoy a dinner and sleep in nomadic Berber tents.
Day 3: Merzouga - Rissani - Erfoud - Errachidia - Ziz Gorge - Midelt - Azrou - Ifrane - Fes
Today we get up early; we cannot afford to miss the sunrise in the desert, an image that we will never forget. Once we return to the hotel we can take a shower and enjoy a good breakfast. Today we will travel to Rissani where we have a short visit to Zawiya Moulay Ali ash-Sharif; a mausoleum that allows entry to non-Muslims and is very interesting for its arcades and its mosaics, we will also have time to wander through the Souk (local market), and the chance to see the foundouks (place where you meet the donkeys).
We will continue our route towards Errachidia, passing by Erfoud. Our next stop will be at the Oasis of Aoufous which is located in the Palm Grove of Ziz; a panoramic view of the oasis for lovers of photography awaits those who enjoy a show. We pass by Errachidia; known as the military town and we will stop at the dam of Hassan Adaklir, which offers the traveler a few precious panoramic moments thanks to the contrast of its turquoise waters with the ochre colored mountains. Along our Tour we will arrive at the Ziz River, 20km where you can enjoy the beautiful landscape that Ksour and the gorges of the Ziz offers us.
Our journey continues through the Middle High Atlas crossing by the pass of Tizi n'Talghom at 1,907meters. We will arrive in Midelt where we will eat and savor the magnificent view of the Aachi Mountain with its snow-capped peaks. We will continue toward Azrou, where you will have the opportunity to see the old tree (800 years and called Gouraud Cedar), as well as have the opportunity to see the monkeys in the forest of cedars. After here we will go to Ifrane (also known as Switzerland of Morocco), located in a hilly area at 1713 meters of altitude, nearby is the National Park of Ifrane representative by its stone figure of the lion; one of the animals that formerly dwelt there. There is a possibility that you can make a visit to the University of Al-Khawayn (two brothers). We will continue our travel in the direction of Fes passing by Imouzzar Kandar, we will arrive in Fes mid-afternoon, where you will transfer to your Riad/Hotel and our services come to an end.
